CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A local delivery driver had his car stolen while he was dropping off a pizza Saturday afternoon, and moments after Eyewitness News aired the report during the 10 and 11 o’clock news, a woman contacted the newsroom wanting to donate a car to the man.

Channel 9 reporter Stephanie Tinoco was with members of the family Sunday afternoon when they first heard about the generous offer.
Thomas Burke told Channel 9 he was less than an hour into his shift when his car was stolen while he was delivering a pizza in northeast Charlotte.
Burke said a teenager walking down Chowning Tavern Lane ran to the running car and jumped in.
Police have not made an arrest in what Burke said was a setup.
"It's the only car we have in this household,” Burke said.
Scott and Kristy Wildman, from Huntersville, heard the story on Channel 9 and wanted to help.
“I saw your story last night and it brought me to tears,” Kristy Wildman said. "I just, immediately, as soon as the story was over, I said we're going to give one of our cars to him.”
The Burkes had no idea, and they even had more than one car from which to choose.
"We saw your story last night and it really touched us. We would like for you to choose,” Kristy Wildman told the family. "There's the truck and there's the car.”
“I can't, I can’t put it into words,” Burke said. “It's unbelievable there's people out here like this in the world."
The Wildmans said it's the only way to live.
"We have very strong faith and I think that's what God calls all of us to do,” Kristy Wildman said.
"If more people gave what little they had to others that were in more need than themselves, it would make the world a better place,” Scott Wildman said.
