NC couple to marry on daytime talk show after Family Feud proposal goes viral

NORTH CAROLINA — A North Carolina couple, whose unique marriage proposal went viral, just went on the Strahan, Sara and Keke Show on ABC to talk about that day, but ended up being asked another shocking question.

Joshua Powell decided to play a “Fast-Money Round” Family Feud match to pop the big question to his girlfriend, Kiana Myrick in December 2019.

Powell said he started working on the idea with his mom in April and it worked out perfectly.

He started by asking her a series of wedding-related questions such as “Name a day a woman always dreams of” and “Name something a woman wears all white to.”

He finished by saying “How would you finish this -- will you marry me?” and she said, yes!

This week, the couple went on the Strahan, Sara and Keke Show to talk about the proposal, but Powell used the moment to ask Myrick another shocking question.

“I wanted to know, will you marry me this Friday on Strahan, Sara and Keke?” Powell asked.

The show is planning the couple’s wedding, which will happen Friday at 1 p.m. ET on ABC. The entire planning process took just five days and the only catch is viewers are selecting Myrick’s dress.

The two say they have known each other since high school and were known as a “Power Couple.”

Now, they will be known as the “Powell Couple.”

The two originally planned to tie the knot in 2021 once Myrick finished nursing school.
