Teen accused of exposing himself at Lincolnton Walmart

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Jeffrey Stidham told Eyewitness News that he did not follow a woman and expose himself Thursday at the Walmart in Lincolnton.

"I don't know what's going on," he said.

However, he is wearing the same clothes and hat as the man in a surveillance camera picture from Walmart.

"This is disturbing when you have something like this," said Sgt. Spencer Summers.

Police said when the 18-year-old went into the Walmart his pants were so low he was exposing himself.

A woman walking in the store noticed someone following her.

Police who watched the video said at one point, Stidham had his hands on his privates while following the woman and he didn't stop even as he passed another woman pushing her young child in a shopping cart.

Officers said another shot shows Stidman still following the woman. They say cameras outside capture him watching her get into her car. Police said as she drives by, he drops his pants and starts yelling at her.

"Something like this puts everybody on edge," Summers said.

Stidman is charged with indecent exposure. He has never been charged with a crime before.

An officer said he recognized him from the video, and that's how police made the arrest.
