CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There was no shortage of million-dollar residential real estate transactions across the Charlotte area in 2018.
When singling out the year’s 20 highest-priced local home sales, these luxury properties sold for between $2.78 million and a whopping $5.3 million.
While several of Charlotte’s most-prestigious neighborhoods are high on that list, a few homes located in Mecklenburg County’s northern neighbor of Iredell County are sprinkled into the mix of high-end home sales in 2018. Homes in affluent subdivisions such as Eastover, Foxcroft and south Charlotte’s Seven Eagles are accompanied on the list by lakefront abodes in Cornelius and Mooresville.
And some high-profile names were among those making residential sales — and purchases — this year.

For instance, there’s Charlotte Checkers owner Michael Kahn, who, along with wife Wendy, sold a 12,000-square-foot mansion in Seven Eagles this summer for $3.275 million. The buyers? None other than new Lowe’s Cos. Inc. CEO Marvin Ellison and his wife, Sharyn.
