These Mecklenburg County luxury homes notched top dollar in November

CHARLOTTE — The Lake Norman-area town of Cornelius was a hot spot for high-end home sales in November. Six of the 10 most expensive residential sales in Mecklenburg County that month were recorded there.

At the top of the list was a newly built home on Island Forest Drive, which sold for nearly $4.14 million in mid-November. The waterfront home, said in its listing to be inspired by upscale beach and lakefront communities, spans more than 6,300 square feet, with five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms.

Additional features inside the home include 12-foot ceilings in the front entry, a wine room and a fitness room in the fully finished lower level.

The half-acre lot offers about 185 feet of shoreline on Lake Norman, according to its listing. It includes a pool and spa, covered terrace and three-car attached garage.

Homes included in this feature represent the 10 most expensive residential sales recorded within the county in November. They range in sale price from about $2.16 million up to the $4.14 million transaction in Island Forest.
