Three arrested in Fontana Avenue shooting, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Neighbors believe a man shot and killed last night could have been a victim of mistaken identity.

Police have arrested three suspects for the overnight shooting on Fontana Avenue: Cedric Mobley, Justin Dixon and Phillip Henderson.

The two victims were found shot on Fontana Avenue just before midnight Thursday night.

Michael Crawley was pronounced dead at a hospital. Channel 9 was told the other victim is in critical condition.

"Someone said it was mistaken identity, or did he just get caught in the crossfire? Because he's 61 years old and he's a Christian person," said Carrie, who asked Channel 9 to not give her last name.

"It makes me afraid for my mom. It makes me afraid for anybody that's living around me, especially my kids," said Marcus Norman.

The three suspects have been charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
