The truck driver told Channel 9 that two cars in front of him stopped quickly and he had nowhere to go. The load on his truck shifted and it spilled thousands of metal drum lids onto the highway.
Crews were able to get the metal drum lids onto the shoulder and reopened all of the lanes on I-85 by 10 a.m.
