Troopers: 1 dead, 2 airlifted in crash in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — One person has died and two others have been hospitalized in a two-car crash in Chesterfield County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened Tuesday around 11 p.m. near Kirkley and McMillian roads near Jefferson, South Carolina. A 60-year-old driver of a 1995 Honda was traveling southbound on Kirkley when their vehicle crossed the center line and struck the driver head-on of a 2008 Mustang, troopers said.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The passenger was airlifted to Atrium Heath Main in Charlotte.

The passenger of the Mustang was also airlifted to the same hospital. The driver of the same Mustang does not have any injuries.
