Troopers seeking public’s help finding hit-and-run suspect in Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run suspect in Iredell County.

In video, the suspect vehicle can be seen making a left turn onto U.S. Highway 21 from Shumaker Drive before hitting a motorcycle. Troopers said the car is a red pickup truck with chrome fender flames, possibly a 1980s Dodge Dakota. It happened Sunday around 8 p.m.

After the collision, the suspect failed to stop and took a right onto Jane Sowers Road, traveling east.

The driver of the motorcycle suffered several leg and foot fractures.

Anyone with information is asked to contact NCSHP Communications.
