CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Two men said they fought back against the same armed attacker.

Police arrested David Bruce, charging him with two attempted armed robberies within minutes of each other in south Charlotte on Monday.

Calvin Schmaltz said he kicked Bruce twice in the crotch after he said Bruce attacked him.

Not long after, Frank Davis said, Bruce knocked on his door and pulled out a gun.

    Davis said he fought back.

"I ran over there and jumped on top of him and hit him some more and took the gun out of his hand," Davis said. "I stood up and said, 'Now what are you going to do? I got your gun.'"

Bruce is in jail on a $175,000 bond.
