Deputies said the warehouse, which is affiliated with the Catholic church in Charlotte, is used to store items for homeless relief projects.

They said workers at the warehouse had just gone to an apartment in Charlotte to collect items donated in the wake of a person's death there earlier this month.

The workers said they sorted through the items when they got back to the warehouse and called investigators after finding the bomb-making materials.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was called in to help and removed the items.

No other details have been released.
