Uptown boutique hotel snags top spot locally on ranking of best lodging options

The Ivey's Hotel

CHARLOTTE — There’s a new hotel atop U.S. News & World Report’s latest ranking of the best lodging options in Charlotte.

The Ivey’s Hotel in uptown took that top spot this year. It ranked as the fourth-best hotel in the state.

In 2021, The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte — also in the heart of uptown — claimed the No. 1 spot locally.

The Ivey’s Hotel, which debuted in 2017 after a $25 million renovation project, occupies two of the six floors inside a historic building at 127 N. Tryon St. That 42-room, five-star boutique hotel is at the former Ivey’s department store.

The Ivey’s Hotel is one of three Charlotte properties to receive a gold badge from U.S. News & World Report, which released its 12th annual “Best Hotels in the USA” rankings this week.
