CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With the number of people experiencing homelessness growing because of the pandemic, people are stepping up to try and help.
Co-founder of Leah’s Hopes and Dreams Shenique Carmichael spends many days a week working with the homeless community.

Since March, she said she’s seen more people forced out of their homes and into tents. The ever-expanding number of tents has others asking how they can help.
“Food is not the major thing, they need the supplies to help them get through the the day-to-day need,” Carmichael said.
