CHARLOTTE — Overnight heavy rain caused flooding on Wilkinson Boulevard near Sam Wilson Road, leading to a temporary road closure.

A white Mercedes stalled in the standing water Friday morning, necessitating the use of a tow truck to clear it from the roadway in west Charlotte.
The flooding occurred overnight, but the water has since receded, and all lanes have reopened.
