CHARLOTTE — The area’s first frost event is expected a little early this season.
After a warm summer, the season’s first cold temperatures are moving in early this week. Monday will hit the 80′s until temperatures plunge Tuesday.
Freeze Warnings are in place for the mountains and adjacent foothills tonight as temps plummet and a Freeze Watch is in place for areas just north of the metro for tomorrow night. That watch may get extended to include Charlotte as our temps will be close to freezing by Wed. AM. pic.twitter.com/bjXYqGyUqM

The first frost event of the season is expected Tuesday into Wednesday. It should not last long with temperatures rising Thursday and into the rest of the week.
Before the cold weather moves in, bring in plants or other items that would not fair well in the cold.
