Winter weather causes severe blood shortage, Red Cross seeks donors

CHARLOTTE — Recent winter weather has caused a severe blood shortage in our area, according to the Morganton News Herald.

Now the American Red Cross is asking donors of all blood types to donate.

The organization reports that since the start of the year, 500 donation drives have been canceled.

However, there are several donation drives planned this month for residents in our area.
