CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The YMCA of Greater Charlotte announced yesterday its intention to build the initial, 14,000-square-foot phase of a master-planned facility on a 30-acre site in the Steele Creek area.
However, the Y says in a news release that it cannot break ground until it has pledges for all of its $9 million fundraising goal. The organization has raised $3.5 million so far, including a $3 million gift from CPI Security founder and CEO Ken Gill and his wife, Malinda.
