York County coroner identifies motorcyclist killed in crash on Highway 55

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on South Carolina Highway 55.

The coroner said 50-year-old James E. Harris was struck by a truck when he attempted to make a U-turn near Highway 557 in Clover.

Harris died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

The coroner said pathology and toxicology results are pending as Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
