YORK, S.C. — Part of East Jefferson Street in York is closed Monday because a water main pushed a telephone pole out of the ground.

This happened in the morning between College Street and Wylie Avenue, police said.
Officials have not said how long the road will be closed. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
