HOLLYWOOD, C.A. — Oprah Winfrey will join Dr. Phil on his show Thursday in a rare interview about her new inspirational documentary series and to reminisce about their 20-year friendship.
Oprah and Dr. Phil discuss unforgettable television moments they've shared, including the trial in Texas that launched their professional relationship.
Dr. Phil appeared often on the "Oprah Winfrey Show", which led to his own popular talk show.
"I wanted you to come on television and do for the other people what you had done for me. How you allowed me to see a deeper part of myself," Oprah said.
Oprah will also preview her new OWN "Belief" series that documents inspirational stories of spiritual adventures around the world.
"My great hope was to create a series that would be 'Planet Spirit' for our planet so that we would be able to see what people of the world believe and how that connects us as one," Oprah said.
The seven-part series, premiering Oct. 18, follows the journey of a woman who quit her job to experience the world's largest spiritual gathering in India, a couple who learns the true meaning of unconditional love after a life-changing car accident and many other moving stories.
Watch the Dr. Phil exclusive interview on WSOC-TV at 4 p.m. Thursday just before Eyewitness News at 5 p.m.
