South Meck (3-2) comes into Friday night's game limping after a tough 48-21 loss to Ardrey Kell, where they gave up 467 total yards and six touchdowns to the Knights Justus Pickett. They will need to tighten it up on the defensive end to stop Providence and star quarterback Chauncey Concepcion.
Despite their loss to Ardrey Kell and to powerhouse Charlotte Catholic back in Week 1, the Sabres have shown signs of brilliance this season, outscoring opponents 138-33 in their three wins over Waddell, Harding and West Meck.
Providence (3-2) comes into the game fresh off a walloping of newcomer Rocky River, 49-0. Panthers quarterback and Channel 9 "Big 22" Player of the Year candidate, Chauncey Concepcion racked up big numbers against Rocky River, scoring touchdowns on two long runs, 44 yards and 42 yards. Concepcion also added two touchdown passes, 24-yards and 12-yards.
