ROCK HILL, S.C.,None — A bear sighting was reported Monday night in Rock Hill, after a weekend during which York police were flooded with calls about a pair of bears.
A resident of the Eastview Oaks neighborhood said she saw the bear around 6:45 p.m. on Cole Avenue. The woman said her husband captured a photo of the animal next to a neighbor's pond.
Authorities said the bears mostly stayed away from people over the weekend. Police monitored calls to make sure the adult bear and a smaller, younger bear didn't get aggressive or become trapped.
One officer spotted the bear on Church Street, near East Liberty, over the weekend and captured it on an in-car camera.
