GREENVILLE, S.C. — The mother of a teen who was shot and killed outside a South Carolina bowling alley has sued the business, saying it failed to protect her son.
The Greenville News reported that LaToya Robinson sued in Tri-City Lanes on July 2 for the 2016 death of her son, 17-year-old KeJuan Brown.
Twenty-two-year-old Albert Lavern Taylor pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 32 years in prison.
The lawsuit said Brown had gone to the bowling alley to meet someone and was confronted by four suspects waving guns. The lawsuit says the business was supposed to be open until 10 p.m., but employees had locked the door just before the shooting.
An employee who said he was manager at Tri-City Lanes said Monday he knew nothing about the suit.
