NEWBERRY, S.C. — Authorities say a gun and a loaded magazine fell out of a student's book bag at a South Carolina high school.
Newbery County deputies say the 18-year-old student grabbed the gun and surveillance video showed him run out of Newberry High School and drive off.
Deputies say no shots were fired and no one was hurt late Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the magazine first fell out of the bag as the student opened it in class, then the gun fell out as a teacher approached.
Deputies said in a statement the student was arrested about 20 miles away while driving toward Columbia on Interstate 26.
