News outlets report 26-year-old Andrew Ryan Murphy was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to charges including murder. Authorities say the February 2018 slaying of 25-year-old Daeshawn Brown was recorded by a security camera at a nearby home. Video shows Murphy approaching Brown from behind and then shooting him in the head at close range.

The video was used to identify Murphy. Solicitor Barry Barnette says in a statement that Murphy had threatened Brown earlier that night in a Facebook conversation with his ex-girlfriend. Cellphone records also put Murphy at the scene of the Spartanburg crime.

Reports say Murphy isn't eligible for parole.
