Plywood, insulation and other debris was scattered across the property after the crash. A bed also sat in the middle of the lawn, about 10 feet away from the room it had been inside. The resident of that apartment said his daughter could have been sleeping in that bed but, luckily, she was awake, watching a show, when the crash happened.
"My daughter was in the living room on the computer and heard a loud boom," James Barbour Jr. said. "We came into the room and this is what we saw. Everybody is all right. This is a catastrophe, yes, but everybody is fine."
Police don't know who was driving the SUV. Witnesses said there were three people inside when the crash happened.
The Red Cross was at the scene overnight and most of the residents have moved to a nearby building.
