NEW YORK — At least four firefighters and one civilian were injured Sunday when a fire broke out in a New York City commercial building, authorities said.
Firefighters were at the scene of the building, where flames broke out in the Fordham Heights neighborhood of the Bronx at about 10:30 a.m. EST, WABC-TV reported.
The blaze was originally classified as a three-alarm fire but became a five-alarm fire as more firefighters responded to the area of 181st Street and Grand Concourse, according to WNYW-TV.
The New York City Fire Department shared video on its Twitter page, showing flames and heavy smoke.

The fire began in the back of the building and spread to a loft, WPIX-TV reported.
This building that caught fire has a row of stores attached to it, according to WABC. The television station said the fire could have been started by an e-bike but was unable to confirm that information.
Smoke from the fire could be seen up to seven miles away in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, WNBC-TV reported.
