Ohio mom accused of leaving toddler home alone while she played Pokemon Go outside

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — An Ohio mother is behind bars after police said she left her 1-year-old home alone while she played Pokemon Go outside for nearly two hours.

According to WKBN and the Vindicator, Brittni Furr, 21, of Austintown, was arrested Saturday night after a neighbor called police to report that a child was screaming inside a Westchester Drive apartment. The caller said a woman, later identified as Furr, had shouted "shut up" at the child before leaving the home with a man about 8 p.m., authorities said. Police arrived to find a 1-year-old wearing a dirty diaper in a Pack 'n Play, the news outlets reported. The child also had vomited, police said.

Furr and the man came back to the apartment shortly before 10 p.m., authorities said. Furr told officers that they had gone outside to play Pokemon Go for 15 minutes but "lost track of time," according to the news outlets.

Furr is being held on $1,250 bond, WKBN and the Vindicator reported. The toddler is now in his grandmother's care, police said.
