UNC Charlotte is holding a book sale on Friday and Saturday to benefit the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library System.
Book Sale Schedule:
• Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. On-campus parking rates apply.
• Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free parking available on campus.
The book sale is being held in the main floor atrium of the J. Murrey Atkins Library. (Click here to see a campus map.) Thousands of donated books of varying genres are on sale. All proceeds will go to the library system for new books and materials, as well as program enhancements.
Students of Dr. Susan Harden, UNC Charlotte professor and coordinator for the university's Crossroads Charlotte initiative, are volunteering their time to promote the event and price, shelve and sell the books.
The students are also holding a bake sale during the event in an effort to raise $750 for the ECHO Foundation to pay for a primary school librarian in Rwanda for a year.
