FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.,None — Cheerleaders and band members from a North Carolina college and high school appear in an explicit version of a J. Cole rap video that's gotten 3 million online views.
The Fayetteville Observer reported the chancellor of Fayetteville State University has apologized to alumni for the appearance of Bronco cheerleaders in the "Who Dat" video. Band members from E.E. Smith High School also appear in the video filmed this spring in downtown Fayetteville.
Chancellor James Anderson says in a letter to alumni that the head of FSU cheerleading has taken responsibility for the appearance in the video, which includes profanity and sexually themed lyrics.
Several Cumberland County school board members said Monday they weren't aware of the video.
Cole is a graduate of Fayetteville's Terry Sanford High School.
