RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say two motorists are dead and a third in the hospital after one of the drivers was speeding in the wrong direction on Interstate 40 and slammed into another vehicle.
Police say the head-on interstate crash happened about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officers said they haven't been able to tell which car was going east in the westbound lanes because the impact caused the vehicles to spin on the road.
Police say one person in each car died.
