Charlotte Catholic long-time coach Oddo to retire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Catholic long-time head coach Jim Oddo will retire at the end of the school year.

The school tweeted out the news Tuesday.

Oddo told Channel 9 said he has been thinking about it for a couple weeks and realized that it is time.

He will not coach the team next season.

He has coached the Cougars since 1973 and won his first state championship in 1977.

Oddo has over 350 wins all-time at Catholic and coached over 500 games.
