ROCK HILL, S.C. — It was all smiles around Northwestern High School's campus Thursday afternoon as quarterback Dupree Hart accepted the first Big 22 trophy won in the state of South Carolina.
Chopper 9 landed in front of the entire student body including faculty, cheerleaders and of course the band that played on throughout the celebration.

Hart and his fellow teammates greeted WSOC-TV sports anchor Phil Orban with a raucous ovation as Channel 9 presented Hart with the trophy and a check for $10,000 that goes toward the school's athletic fund provided by WSOC-TV and OrthoCarolina.
The senior quarterback took to the podium and thanked his family and friends for voting in his favor of winning the prestigious Big 22 hardware on a day filled with excitement, hugs and smiles for Trojan nation.
"It didn't really hit me until I saw the chopper come in and saw the trophy coming out of the chopper, but it's a pretty amazing experience being named the Big 22 player of the year," Hart said.

Even with his exceptional football skills, Hart has committed to play baseball at the College of Charleston.
He said he will miss football a lot and it probably won't hit him until next football season.
