A Guide To Taste Of Charlotte Festival

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — 2010 will mark the 12th Year of the Annual Taste of Charlotte Festival!

Enjoy delicious food while you stroll along Tryon Street visiting local & national sponsors. The festival offers entertainment that is enjoyable for all ages!

Admission to Taste of Charlotte is free. Guests can purchase coins for their food samples and beverages.

Here's a ‘Taste' of what you can see:

Thousands of visitors enjoying food from 30 of Charlotte's finest restaurants, everything from tiramisu and bbq sliders to dragon puffs and reuben bites!

Children bouncing and playing on the giant inflatables throughout Crossroads, Presented by Bloom Grocery. Or, see some of the younger kids aboard "Little Blue Choo," Charlotte's favorite trackless train (located at Third Street)

Incredible Street Performers with amazing Magic, Balloon Creations and Lively Music.

Kids young and old playing interactive games

Free health screenings in the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour

Cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs, at the Mobile Kitchen located on Tryon near the intersection of Trade as well as at the Char-Broil Infrared Tour

Guests can enjoy an extensive selection of wines from Twisted Wine, specialty beers on tap in the Tavern at the Taste Presented by Blue Moon Brewing Co.

Unique art, clothing, accessories, woodcrafts and more from some of the region's most talented artists, all featured in the MarketPlace Presented by Circle K.

Live Entertainment on the Center Stage at Trade and Tryon featuring music, belly dancing and the Best of the Taste awards.

Charlotteans will recycle their empty beverage bottles in the over 100 recycling containers throughout the festival.

All restaurants are entered into the Best of the Taste Competition. Judges spend a few hours on Friday afternoon sampling over 100 menu items to determine our winners.

The Winner of each category receives the Silver Plater Award. Look for the Silver Plater displayed in the Restaurant's booth throughout the weekend and in their restaurants throughout the year.
