Annual Southern Spring Home & Garden Show gets under way

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — The Southern Spring Home & Garden Show is under way at The Park Expo and Conference Center on Independence Boulevard.

For 52 years, the show has delivered spring one month before it arrives on the calendar. With the help of hundreds of professional landscapers, nurserymen, interior designers and home and garden experts, event organizers work to offer ideas, products and resources to visitors.

The event runs through Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and free for those under 15 with paying adults.

• Rhythm in Bloom is the theme for the Belgard Gardens Showcase.  Each garden and designer room will be themed with a musical twist.
• Orchids, Bonsai, Ikebana and horticulture galore will delight green and wanna-be green thumbs.  Whichever category you're in, there are experts on hand to offer advice.
• The Garden Stage hosts expert rose growers, landscapers, horticulturists and nurserymen who know what it takes to boast a beautiful garden in our region.
• Outdoor Living Building & Home Improvement pavilions are packed with the newest innovations.
• The Travel & Taste pavilion pampers your hidden gourmet with wine tastings, food samples and lots of goodies to buy and take home.
