CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Emergency crews are at the scene of an accident on N. Church Street in uptown Charlotte.
A car crashed into the Basil Thai restaurant just after 4:30 p.m. Two pedestrians were hit by the car, Medic said.

Police said the car hit the restaurant after the driver ran a red light and was hit by another car, which pushed it into the building.
Three people have life-threatening injuries and are being taken to Carolinas Medical Center Main, according to Medic.
Church Street is open, but Fifth Street is closed between Church and Tryon streets. Police officers are directing traffic around the accident.
A large window in the restaurant was damaged, but the owner said he plans to board it up and try to serve dinner as usual.
