Carolina Renaissance Festival goes batty over Halloween

Looking for a fun, free, and safe place to trick or treat?  Put the Carolina Renaissance Festival on your list of things to do for Halloween with free event admission for all kids 12 and under, free trick or treating all around the 22-acre festival village, Halloween Costume Contest with prizes, and a Halloween Treasure Hunt with prizes.

Already the Carolinas' largest costume party, the Renaissance Festival becomes the place to start your Halloween celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on October 26 and 27.

Treat bags and goodies will be provided free to children each day, while supplies last.  Festival vendors and exhibitors throughout the park provide a safe trick or treat environment with free treats for the kids.

A full day of regular festival entertainment is complimented by the Knights of the Living Dead zombie jousting challenge, three times daily throughout the Halloween weekend.

Children ages 5 through 12, normally a $12 admission, will be admitted free Oct. 26 and 27.  Adult tickets are $21 when purchased in advance at Harris Teeter stores, $1 higher at the gate.  Event parking is free.
