KANNAPOLIS, N.C.,None — The voters have spoken, and after nearly 70,000 votes, WSOC-TV is headed to Concord at A.L. Brown for the Game of the Week on Friday night.
The match-up features a battle of two bitter rivals and two high-powered teams that are both having great seasons.
This game is a battle for the 3A South Piedmont Conference Championship. Concord (8-2) has one loss in the conference (5-1) this season, and will look to win the conference title with a win.
A.L. Brown (9-1) will look to slow down the potent Concord offense that is averaging 50 points per game this season.
A.L Brown has gone undefeated in conference play (5-0) and has beaten Concord three out of the last four meetings.
This game features Concord senior quarterback and Channel 9 "Big 22" player of the year finalist B.J. Beecher and also "Big 22" candidate Damien Washington from A.L. Brown.
