CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers snagged their first win inside Bank of America Stadium this season after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
The team's kicker, Joey Slye, is the only one in the NFL with three field goals of more than 50 yards this year.
Slye grew up in a military family. He said he offset the challenges of moving around the country and making new friends with family because he had his best friend and older brother, AJ.

"He was my older brother," Slye said. "The things he did, I really looked up to and I just tried to either A) accomplish the same or B) do better than he did. He was my hero."
Watch the video above as Channel 9's sports anchor Matt Harris sits down with Slye, who said his success is fueled by the bond he shared with his brother.
