CHARLOTTE — Christian Dos Santos, 22, is facing charges after he crashed into a North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper early Tuesday morning, officials said.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 85 at the Brookshire Freeway in west Charlotte.
Troopers tried to stop Dos Santos for suspected DWI, but he sped off, according to court documents. The suspect then slammed into a patrol car and ran, troopers said.
They found an open container in his car.
One person was hurt but not badly.
