CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it has charged a 15-year-old in the murder of a woman in south Charlotte last month.

Police said the teen was arrested on an unrelated robbery charge. After his interview with detectives, he was charged with the murder of 20-year-old Shandiin Sanchez. His name has not been released because of his age.
Police had already charged 19-year-old Mario Ramirez-Duarte in the case.

The two are accused of murdering Sanchez on Oct. 27. She was found shot to death outside the River Birch Apartments on Riverbirch Drive.
Sanchez's mother said her daughter lived downstairs from Ramirez-Duarte.
