CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nineteen students from a south Charlotte middle school were on their way to local hospitals after their school bus was involved in a minor accident Friday morning.
Firefighters and paramedics spent several hours at Jay M. Robinson Middle School checking out more than 20 students who were on the bus.
The bus was hit by another bus from Charlotte Catholic High School about 7:30 a.m.
Officials told Channel 9 all of the injuries appear to be minor.
"Some students were put in full-spinal immobilization as a precaution. There were some back pains and neck pains," said Charlotte Fire Department Capt. John Dygert.
Because of the number of students who were complaining of some pain, Medic sent its Mass Casualty Evacuation unit to the school.
