HARRISBURG, N.C. — Police said they have arrested two men in the robbery of the Pinnacle Bank at Town Center in Harrisburg on Friday morning.
Authorities said one of the men entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The man left the bank with some cash and got into a getaway car driven by the other man.
No gun was shown, police said.
The employees gave authorities a good description of the car and soon after, a Cabarrus County deputy spotted it near University City Boulevard and Interstate 485.
When deputies asked them to pull over, they obeyed.
"To observe but stay out of harm’s way is what we want out of our citizens,” Cabarrus County Sheriff Van Shaw said.
The bank closed for most of the day.
Police said no one was injured or threatened.
The robber was taken to a hospital because of an unrelated medical issue.
The cash was recovered from the vehicle.
"This is unusual,” Shaw said.
