CLEVELAND, NC — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out what led to a fatal shooting late Saturday night.
Two men were found dead in a pickup truck about 10:30 p.m. near Salisbury.
Police have identified the two victims as 21-year-old Daniel Carlton Redman and 20-year-old William Thomas Redman of Cleveland.
Patrol Units of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Mountain Road in Cleveland just after 10 p.m. Saturday.
A caller advised dispatchers that shots had been fired and that several men were armed with guns at the residence.
The caller told police a pickup truck was leaving the area, traveling towards Carson Road.
About 10:25 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Hildebrand Road in Salisbury.
A caller reported seeing two gunshot victims in a pickup truck. Deputies found two white males, both dead, inside the pickup.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
Investigators with the Cleveland Police Department are assisting.
