CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Five clergy who worked in the Charlotte Diocese were named on a list of credible allegations of abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.
It put together the list of 11 names where it found credible allegations of abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.
Glenmary said those allegations had enough evidence that it believed it is more likely true than not.
Almost half of those listed served in the Charlotte Dioceses, including Al Behm, Adelbert "DeL" Holmes, Tony Jablonowski, Ed Smith and Gino Vertassich.
The Charlotte Diocese said in a statement that it was looking into the allegations.
"We are grateful the Glenmary religious order has released the findings of its historical review, as it is important to notify all communities in which these clergy have served," the statement said.
The Charlotte Diocese is preparing to release a list of all priests credibly accused of child sex abuse since its inception in 1972.
The diocese said it is still deciding which information will be included.
