Atrium Health opens new rehabilitation center to treat complex injuries and illnesses

CHARLOTTE — Atrium Health announced the grand opening of their David L. Conlan Center at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation in south Charlotte on Saturday.

Carolinas Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized hospital that specializes in innovative, customized therapy for a large range of conditions from complex to common due to injury or illness.

The new David L. Conlan Center replaces an older building that was constructed in 1950. The new structure features 72 patient rooms, private treatment spaces, a therapy garden and 16,000 square feet of inpatient and outpatient therapy space,

The project began in September 2020, making it the first step in the renovation and modernization of the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Campus.

Enterprise group vice president for the Atrium Health Rehabilitation Network and president for Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation Robert Larrison said they are proud to be medical pioneers in the Charlotte area and are excited to continue to provide high-quality care for generations to come.
