Better.com continuing its hiring spree in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former homebuilder executive will lead the Charlotte office of a fast-growing New York company.

Demi Knight Clark this month was appointed as head of the Charlotte region for Better.com, an online mortgage lender with ambitious hiring goals for an office it established here last year. Clark will lead hiring and growth of the Charlotte operation.

So far, Better.com has hired about 280 people in Charlotte, Clark said. The company is tracking to have nearly 400 hires in Charlotte by the end of August. The stated long-term goal by Better.com is to have 1,000 employees in Charlotte by 2024.
