MORGANTON, N.C. — A 150-pound black bear was spotted Monday morning near downtown Morganton, according to reports.
One person spotted the bear behind a dumpster at Burke Pharmacy. Morganton Public Safety said a trash collector spotted the bear while removing trash from the dumpsters.

A second sighting of the bear was reported at the intersection of East Meeting and White streets, Public Safety said.
