UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County Public Schools kicked off the 2023 “Books and Brackets” reading challenge in February.

The competition is modeled after the March Madness tournament.
“The goal that we have for our class this year is a 40-book challenge,” said student Grayson Grayson Shumard.
