CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A broken pipe caused an estimated 2,400 gallons of wastewater to spill, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department said.
The spill reached a tributary of McAlpine Creek, off Hemsworth Trail. No dead fish were found associated with the overflow, officials said.
A crew fixed the pipe and cleaned the area after finding the spill.
